What it is
TAPE score
Our own evaluation of a player — the number the draft board is ordered by.
Today it is value over replacement at your league’s size: what a player is worth against the man you would start instead of him in a room of that many teams. It is why a running back and a quarterback can be compared at all, and it is what Your board reads when you leave it on TAPE score.
What is still to come is the layer underneath it: per-play value net of who a player lined up with, against, and where. That replaces how the number is computed, not what it is called — and until it lands, every TAPE figure on the site is the projection-based version described above.
